I was honoured to be selected to represent Team GB, and thoroughly enjoyed my first international coaching experience. The team performed so well and it filled me with pride to be involved in Britain’s most successful European Youth Olympic Festival team ever.
The meet is close to my heart, after competing there 12 years ago in Belgrade, Serbia. The opportunity for swimmers to race in a multi-sport environment, whilst staying in an athletes’ village, is about as close as you can get to experiencing an Olympic Games. I know the meet provides valuable experiences for swimmers at the early stages of their career, so it was a pleasure to be involved.
