Development Head Coach

AJ, as he's known, is a former Team GB Olympian and silver medallist at the Commonwealth Games .

AJ began his competitive swimming career at PL as an 11 year old and has never looked back. His love and passion for the sport drove him upwards to win many national titles and then international selection - representing Great Britain at European and World Championships as well as the Commonwealth Games and London 2012 Olympics where he competed alongside the most successful Olympian of all time, Michael Phelps, in the 100m butterfly.

As head of PL's development program, the former Devonport High student, regularly coaches PL squads at all levels - from the county standard swimmers in the club's top junior squads through to our most decorated athletes. He loves being able to pass on his experience to the next generation and they, in turn, are hugely inspired by his stories of competition and success.

"Swimming has been a great passion of mine over the years," he said. "I believe it is an extremely good way to develop vital life skills.. and more importantly to have fun while learning".

Having come up through PL myself I know what it is like to progress through the club, my passion in the sport is now to use my knowledge and experience to help the next generation of superstars!
