There were some great swims all round as the "Blue Army" convincingly won their gala at Plymouth's Life Centre.
The fifty strong team saw off competition from some of the region's other top clubs... finishing with 280 points ahead of Poole on 200 points and Exeter 195.
It puts them top of the table in the competition's Western Premier Division. They'll travel to Newport in South Wales for round 2 in November.
Head coach Robin Armayan was pleased with his team's start to this year's campaign. "It was a consistent, impressive and very professional performance," he said. "I wish to congratulate the swimmers for their effort and commitment but also the coaches who have done a tremendous job in such a short time."
Plymouth Leander were runners up behind Millfield in last year's national final and are hoping to go one better this time round.
